Putnam County Community Center is offering a virtual class called, Dining out without filling out, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6.

The class will be led by Illinois Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator Susan Glassman.

These days, portions at restaurants are quite a bit larger than they were several years ago. One entrée can equal three or four servings. Studies show that people tend to eat more when they’re served more food. Can you order-in or dine-out and practice a healthy lifestyle?

We will discuss the clues to healthy choices to look for on a menu, how to spot the extra calories, and how to estimate portion sizes with our “handy” guide. Enjoy ordering-out or dining-out for a delicious, nutritious meal without any dishes to wash.

Register online at https://go.illinois.edu/dineout or call 815-224-0889. After registration, you will receive the zoom meeting link to save in your calendar. The day of the class click on the zoom link and watch the virtual class from the comfort of your own home. Receive helpful tips and a handout. The program is free and available to all.
