DALZELL — Registration for Dalzell Grade School will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at the school.

In order to follow current social distancing protocols, appointments will be set in 15-minute increments. To set up an an appointment, call the school at 815-663-8821. Remember to wear a mask and, if possible, only have one family member come to register a child(ren). If you cannot make it on registration day during this time, forms and payments can be dropped off during the summer office hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday or mailed to: 307 Chestnut Street, Dalzell, IL 61320.

Textbook fees and all required physical forms (preschool, kindergarten sixth grade), eye exam forms (kindergarten) and dental forms (kindergarten, second and sixth grades) are to be turned in to the office on or before Aug. 3.

Anyone new to the district who has not yet notified the school of their child(ren) attending should call 815-663-8821 or come to the office as soon as possible.

Additional health, dental or sport physical forms and supply lists will be available. It is each parent’s responsibility to register his/her own child(ren).

Checks should be made payable to Dalzell Grade School. Fees for 2020-21 will be as follows: Kindergarten fees, $90; Grades 1-8, $90; and Grades 3-8 technology fee, $20. P.T.O. dues of $10 may also be paid at the time of registration.

Children will be admitted to kindergarten if they are 5 years of age on or by Sept. 1. All students entering kindergarten must present a certified copy of their birth certificate (obtained from the county in which the child was born). Also, any child who has not previously attended school in the district must present a certified copy of their birth certificate. Kindergarten is a half-day program from 8:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
