This letter is in response to a recent letter, ‘Our bodies are not political playground’. Adam Kinzinger has clearly voted against federal funding for Planned Parenthood. I hope he continues. Here’s why.

In 1973, The Endangered Species Act (ESA; 16 U.S.C. # 1531) passed the Senate on a unanimous vote and the House a 390-12 margin. It saved the Florida manatee, grizzly bear, American alligator, monarch butterfly and bald eagle from extinction. If you kill a pre-born (egg) sea turtle you could be fined $100,000 and spend a year in jail. You are in real big trouble if you kill a pre-born (egg) bald eagle and risk a $250,000 fine and two years in a federal prison. God’s beautiful creatures have a right to live and have been saved by government actions.

Also in 1973, Roe v. Wade, (410 U.S. #113), passed the US. Supreme Court on a 7-2 vote. The Court ruled that the U.S. Constitution protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. It struck down many U.S. state and federal abortion laws. Since this law was passed, 61 million of God’s beautiful children have been denied life by government actions.

In 2018, 51 children died of vehicular heatstroke. More children died in hot cars in the U.S. than any other year on record. It is front page news! Their parents chose to have their children, yet other adults chose to kill an estimated 600,000 children before birth the same year.

The most dangerous place for a baby today is in the mother’s womb. Those aborted children might have survived, had they been born a Monarch butterfly.
