LADD — The regular meeting of the Ladd Community Consolidated School Board was held Oct. 18.
Music students who participated in the BVEC Music Festival were recognized and congratulated: Skye Torri, Sarah Beier, Ella Englehaupt, Bella Chavez, Reid Sartain, Amara Stanmar, Mya McLaughlin, Gabby Tegg, Charizma Tegg and Isaiah Pelc.
The boys’ basketball season has begun.
Three board members were recognized for their professional development achievement at the IASB’s Starved Rock Division meeting. Nate Fiocchi achieved Master Board Member status, and Paul Quinn and Marie Giordano renewed their Master Board Member status.
The state has paid the balance due for Fiscal Year 2018. The district is currently owed $39,120.33 for FY 2019. The financial report shows the district has collected 55 percent of estimated revenue and spent 25 percent of budgeted expenses.
The Ladd Community Education & Enrichment Foundation’s Halloween Hustle Run/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
Spirit Wear is on sale online through Oct. 29.
The Halloween Grand March begins at 1 p.m. Oct. 31 in the gym. The public is welcome to attend. Room parties hosted by the PTO will follow.
In other business, the board:
• Approved the purchase of internet-based financial software from Specialized Data Systems Inc.
• Appointed Jane Piccatto to the delegate assembly at the IASB convention.
• Adopted the Illinois Association of School Boards recommended updates to several board policies.
• Approved renewing the snow removal contract with Starline Construction at the same hourly rate as last year.
The next regular board of education meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, in the John T. Piccatto Library.
