Board to consider school building bonds Wednesday

Agenda released for PES meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton Elementary School District released its agenda for a special meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 at the Logan Junior High School Media Center.

1) Call to order, roll call, Pledge of Allegiance

2) Approval of agenda

3) Public participation

4) Resolution providing for and requiring the submission of the proposition of issuing $35 million in school building bonds to the voters of the district at the general election on Nov. 6

5) Adjournment

School board members met last Thursday, Aug. 9, to hear the details of a plan to build a new school to house third-graders through eighth-graders, at a cost of $35 million.

Part of the plan calls for the closing and demolition of Logan Junior High School, which is approaching 90 years old, and Lincoln Elementary School.

Those properties would be returned to green space.

The district’s Master Planning Committee was involved in recent months in creating the plan for the proposed grades 3-8 school building.

The Logan Media Center may be accessed from the south entrance of Logan Junior High School.
