Trivia Night will benefit special education programs

PRINCETON — A 90’s Trivia Night fundraiser to benefit special education in Princeton, Bureau Valley and Malden schools, will be held Saturday, April 7, at the Princeton Moose Lodge. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and trivia will start at 6 p.m. The cost is $20 a person with six people per team. Pizza will be available for purchase. Blood drive in Walnut

HCGS will meet Feb. 26

KEWANEE — The Henry County Genealogical Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, in t the Kewanee Public Library second floor meeting room. An elevator is available at the First Street entrance. The program will be given by Floyd Ham, titled, “Slavery and the underground railroad.” Highlighting the many connections of those early day anti-slavery sympathizers, abolitionists and underground railroad agents associated with Henry County. Everyone is welcome.

Bureau County reunion

SV Little League fundraiser

SPRING VALLEY — Spring Valley Little League will hold a chicken dinner fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Rip’s in Ladd. Tickets are $9. There will also be a bake sale and raffles. Money raised will help buy new equipment and bats for all teams because of new requirements for Little League. Tickets are available at Spring Valley City Hall or by contacting Ryan Ferrari 815-878-1356. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Pancake and sausage breakfast

WALNUT — The Walnut Winners 4-H Club will hold its annual all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 18, with serving from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Walnut Senior Citizens Center on Main Street. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and under. Carry-outs will be available.

Ash Wednesday event

PRINCETON —An Ash Wednesday “Come & Go” hour will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the New Hope Church of the Nazarene, 30 N. Sixth St. in Princeton.

Lady Bruins softball team plans fundraiser on Feb. 23

LASALLE — The St. Bede Academy softball program will host a fish fry fundraiser from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at the LaSalle VFW. Tickets are $8 each. The menu will be fried fish, fries and coleslaw. Carry-outs will be available. Beverages and desserts will be available for purchase. There will also be a bake sale, raffles and prizes.

Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser planned for March 12

LADD — A CysticFibrosis Foundation fundraiser will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Rip’s Tavern in Ladd. Tickets are sold in advance for $9 and there will be a bake sale as well.Dinners can be carry-out or dine-in. In 2016, the Rip’s fundraiser raised $2,100 for the CF Foundation and this year they are hoping to go over $2,500.

Hall Class of 1958 will meet to make plans for reunion
