U.S. sinks to new low in eyes of the world

Forget any role as a moral force in the world, forget any leadership in international diplomacy, forget that the United States — save for native Americans — is a nation of immigrants of every race and religion from every continent.

President Donald Trump’s presidency — signified most recently by his vulgar, shameful and racist denigration of African countries and Haiti — has, in one short year, brought the United States to a new low in the eyes of the world.

The way to restore some semblance of our dignity, decency and humanity is for everyday Americans to stand up and say publicly, organizationally, and at the ballot box, not in our name.
