Virginia Peach

WALNUT — Virginia M. Peach, 84, of Walnut died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Heritage Health in Walnut.

Virginia was born Nov. 27, 1932, the daughter of Ben Frank and Mildred Virginia (Beaber) Strader. She married Delmar C. Peach on June 10, 1950, in Princeton. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1993.

Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church in Walnut. She worked as a secretary and treasurer for Glenn and Dick Fritz Plumbing and Heating. She then was employed by the village of Walnut as the treasurer and then went on to be the treasurer of the First Christian Church.

She loved to play bingo and do crossword puzzles. Virginia was an avid reader and enjoyed reading the daily newspapers. She enjoyed being called “Grandma Gin” by those that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Lonny (Rhonda) Peach of Walnut; one granddaughter, Melissa (Chad) Arians of Sterling; two great-grandchildren, Bradyn and Mia Arians; one sister, Shirley (Jerry) Post of Omaha, Ark.; four brothers, Frank Strader of Walnut, Leonard (Mary Jane) Strader of Walnut, Roger Strader of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Keith Strader of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Dennis; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Towne; and one brother, Howard Strader.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the First Christian Church in Walnut with the Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Walnut Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Walnut or the American Red Cross.
