PRINCETON — Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center, serving Henry, Marshall, Putnam, Stark and Bureau counties, will host its annual Bureau County fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 30.
This event helps raise awareness of all of the children in the community who have suffered at the hands of abuse. Braveheart has been helping to provide a safe, child friendly place for kids to tell about their abuse.
Braveheart is a not-for-profit organization that utilizes a child-focused model to coordinate the investigation and treatment services for children involved in allegations of sexual or serious physical abuse. On average, Braveheart works with 150 children each year and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Their office services as the heart of the community’s initial response to child abuse.
Braveheart does not charge for any of its services. Because of this, each year they need to raise approximately 20 percent of the annual budget in order to continue providing services. They use the money from the fundraiser for program expenses. This money is critical and allows Braveheart to continue serving abused children and their families. Donations enable the children to begin to heal and move forward.
